The inspiration for these came by way of a friend of mine who takes occasional sabbaticals to southern Indiana. She often returns with stones that have caught her attention from the edge of a stream. We think of a stone as a permanent object, but in water it becomes impermanent, responding to the flow of water across its’ surface. My wood boxes are much the same, responding to the flow of the idea and the tools used to create it. I suppose you could say they’re really all one box, constantly changing.
All boxes are made of pine and varnished. Color is added using oil bars.
